Trialists on view in Sounders' 1-1 training draw

Sounders FC drew 1:1 in Argentina Saturday with a makeshift roster of trialists against CED Rosario, a collect of Argentine football free agents. The Sounders released the notes and quotes below.

“It was good to see Michael Fucito on the field because he hadn’t been able to join us since we drafted him because of an injury," commented heach coach Sigi Schmid. "So it was nice for him to get his feet wet. It was a good situation. We had a trialist out there in Diego Ferrerya, who is a local player from here in Argentina we wanted to look at. And then we had Ely Allen, who has been released from the L.A. Galaxy. So we want to give Ely, a Washington guy, a good look while we’re here.”

Colombian center back Jhon Kennedy Hurtado also saw his first Seattle action.

“We forced ourselves to do a lot of defending in the first half that we didn’t need to do," concluded Schmid. "You live and learn and the guys learned a valuable experience in the game today. And for us as coaches it was valuable because we see who steps in those situations and who doesn’t.”

Seattle meets Velez Sarsfield in the third game of its Argentine tour on Monday morning.

  1. I really like the kit shown in the pic above. Those shorts and socks make rave green look about as good as it's going to.
