You take what you can from these otherwise meaningless exhibitions, and Sounders fans can take away the knowledge that Hugo Alcaraz-Cuellar is getting better from his long injury.

Hugo's 85th minute goal gave the USL Sounders a 2-1 win over a very makeshift San Jose Earthquakes squad. Both sides used plenty of bench players before the night was over.

You can read an on the scene report from Quakes and Sounders fan Farpost here.

Kenji Treschuk brought the Sounders level 1-1 with a 50th minute score.

The ball is cleared away from Shea Salinas at the touchline by Danny Jackson.
