P-I: Sounders pluck two off family tree

Matt Gaschk reports in today's Seattle P-I about the still yet-to-be officially announced moves to bring Ciaran O'Brien and Kevin Forrest into the mix for the 2008 Sounders.

"It's great to be back home and be able to play some games," said O'Brien, 20, who has trained with the Sounders since he was 14. "I know how they play, I've watched them over the years and I'm a huge fan. That makes a difference. I'm passionate about the Sounders. Coming here is perfect. It's what I need."

"It's cool," Forrest said of sporting the same kit as his father. "He doesn't really talk about his career, but he's got some of the posters laying around."

But Forrest and O'Brien were not brought to the Sounders as mere family favors. They both fill glaring needs for a target forward to combine with MLS-bound Sebastien Le Toux and, with Leighton O'Brien's injury, a creative midfielder.
