GOALSeattle.com kicks off flag-making contest!

GOALSeattle.com is giving away some cool prizes, including a 2009 Seattle Sounders FC season ticket, in our Sounders flag-making contest!

Flags are a soccer tradition around the world and will fill the skies at the south end of Qwest Field when Sounders FC debut in just over two months. Go all-out and design and make a flag to fly in the south end where the season ticket to be awarded is located!

You can make it by hand yourself or design it and get help with the sewing. Either way, it is important to send photos and/or video of your progress along the way and to campaign for your flag in the GOALSeattle forums.

Details have been posted regarding the rules for entering the contest:

Now-March 5: send in photos and / or videos of you planning and making your flag. Campaign for your flag to be the winner in the GOALSeattle.com forum thread!

March 5...Flags Must be DONE! Prove you are finished with final photos or video of your flag! LAST DAY to submit photos and videos.

March 5-8
...Voting and Judging

March 9...winner announced and season ticket awarded

Flags will be judged / voted on using the following criteria:

1. Use of Sounders FC club colors
2. Uniqueness
3. Difficulty of design
4. How well their creations are documented through photos or videos sent to GOALSeattle.com
5. Flag must be at least 3 feet tall by 5 feet long and flyable at matches.

Start sending your flag-making photos and / or videos to goalseattle@gmail.com now!

Be watching for 2nd and 3rd place prizes to be announced, too!
