Sounders FC contemplate trading #1 draft spot

Seattle Sounders FC still have the top pick in Thursday's Major League Soccer SuperDraft, but for how long?

Reports continue to come in that Seattle are considering all offers from clubs who want to move up at assure themselves of the top spot and thus the exact player they want.

Goal.com has posted a mock draft here.

In the Seattle Times Jose Romero quotes head coach Sigi Schmid as saying "Obviously we've talked to some teams and those talks are ongoing." SoccerByIves.net says Seattle is openly courting offers for the No. 1 overall pick.

Two suitors for the top spot appear to be Toronto FC and the San Jose Earthquakes.

Meanwhile the MLS Combine has come to a close and there are varying opinions as to the overall quality of players available for this draft.

Kyle McCarthy of Goal.com says "the myth of a deep and talented draft finally met its inevitable demise after the MLS Player Combine." Buzz Carrick of 3rdDegree.net adds his final player reviews here. Glenn Davis tries to set the draft field in this report.

The first round of the MLS SuperDraft will be shown live on ESPN2 Thursday morning at 11:00 AM Seattle time.
