The calm before...?

So it's Tuesday December 9th and Seattle Sounders FC have gone almost an entire week without some kind of big announcement or presentation. What gives! (kidding)

We are waiting for a few things to develop: signing our first head coach and seeing if Colombian striker Freddy Montero is in our plans for 2009. These two items should be cleared up before Christmas.

Sigi Schmid is weighing his options and Freddy Montero's club Deportivo Cali have no further matches after December 14th.

SoundersFC.com's Frank MacDonald talks with Sebastien Le Toux in a club website update. I have to keep reminding myself, with the 2008 Sounders' lackluster final USL campaign, that Le Toux has won back-to-back Golden Boots as top scorer in the US Open Cup. He'll go for the three-peat with Sounders FC in 2009.

Speaking of 2008 USL Sounders, it looks the like players who might be signed by Sounders FC and brought up will be waiting a bit longer to find out. MLS is a centralized contracting league, and with discovery claim paperwork things are dragging out. Let's hope the boys who've been signed know they are in before the SuperDraft in mid January.

Sounders FC fans continue to post photos of the fast-selling rave green and Sounder blue gear that has been released.

One of the recent photos posted by Tgos had him putting Sounders jerseys over his sleeping kids. Hopefully the boys don't read GS, because Santa was giving them a sneak peek at one of their Christmas presents.
